Environmental Moot Court Team Advances to Final Round
Katelyn Hepburn (3L), Lindsey West (2L) and Hannah Cail (2L) competed against Vermont Law School and the University of Mississippi in the final round of Pace’s 2015 Environmental Law Moot Court Competition. The University of Mississippi won for the fourth time in five years.
Sixty-two teams competed in this year’s competition. In the preliminary rounds the University of Montana met Loyola University, University of South Dakota, Northeastern University, University of Louisville, Louisiana State University and Widener University. Katelyn Hepburn won the award for best oralist in the round against Northeastern and Louisville.
The University of Montana defeated the University of Indiana and Western New England University in the quarterfinal round and eliminated the University of California-Berkeley and Barry University in the semifinal Round.
The last time the University of Montana competed in the final round was 2005. Additionally, in 2002 a team member won the overall best-oralist award. The Environmental Law Moot Court Team has been coached by Heidi Fanslow, class of ‘94, since 2001.
