Jon Bennion is a native of Billings, MT. He earned his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Montana. In 2004, he authored Big Sky Politics, a book on the history of campaigns and elections in Montana. Following a clerkship with a state district judge in Billings, Jon worked for seven years as head of Government Relations for the Montana Chamber of Commerce. In 2009 to 2013, he served on the five-member Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission, redrawing the boundaries of legislative districts. Jon worked for Attorney General Tim Fox at the Montana Department of Justice from 2013 to 2020, eventually serving as Chief Deputy Attorney General. He is now Government Relations Director for The Washington Companies. He lives in Clancy, MT with his wife, Jessi, and his son, Jack.
