Ms. Doan Thi Anh Mai

Mai Doan

I was born in Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa Province and I really enjoy playing chess, singing and dancing. I studied at Quan Son primary School and Quan Son Ethenic Boarding Secondary School and was appointed as class president three times. At the age of  13, I joined many chess competitions and I gained many prizes including 6 first district-level prizes, 3 first province-level prizes. To improve my soft skills, I participated in many extracurricular activities and volunteer programs like Green Summer. When I was 15, I decided to study at Thanh Hoa Ethenic Boarding High School. Now, I am living in a dormitory with my friends. Gradually, this helps me gain more independence, confidence and have a positive lifestyle. I always try my best to do well in everything. I hope that I will have more opportunities to discover many wonderful lands to expand my knowledge in the future.

 

Ms. Le Thi Linh Chi

Chi Le I was born and grew up in Ngoc Lac District, Thanh Hoa Province on September 15, 2004. I studied in Le Dinh Chinh Secondary School and during the course of this time I participated in a volunteer team in Ngoc Lac District in which we organized different voluntary activities such as donating books and clothes, visiting war soldiers' families. These activities gave me a valuable opportunity to develop myself and become a more responsible person to the society. Currently, I am a 11 grader in Thanh Hoa Ethnic Boarding High School. My favorite subject is Biology because I am interested in how our bodies work and develop. I feel so fortunate to have a chance to get access to proper education, to gain the knowledge and discover the world.  I suppose I have to work harder and be more independent as this will help me be more mature in the future. 

 

Ms. Le Phuong Thuy

Thuy Le My name is Thuy. I was born and grew up in Ngoc Lac district - a remote area of Thanh Hoa province. My hobbies are listening to music, reading books. The type of book I like the most is romance. When I was a child, I joined a contest called “Smart and quick-witted baby” and won the first prize. When I studied at Le Dinh Chinh secondary school, I participated in a contest organized by the province and fortunately won the first prize in history. That is my pride. In account of taking part in many competitions, I become more confident. Now I am in grade 11 at Thanh Hoa ethnic boarding high school. I’m staying in the school dormitory and living far away from my parents; therefore it helps me to raise my independence. Regarding my plans for the future, I always want to study abroad in the US. 

 

Ms. Le Nhung Thi Cam

Cam Nhung Le I am an 11 grader at Thanh Hoa ethnic boarding high school. Before entering my current school, I went to local school where I worked hard in my studies as well as participated in extracurricular activities. During this time, I gained valuable life skills and became a more responsible person. I am now one of the founders of SMILEY English Club, which gives me lots of opportunities trying a new position as a leader, as well as helping other students in my school improve their English and acquire knowledge about social problems. I am also a recipient of the Green Ambassador project of American Hanoi Center, which has allowed me to engage in research on air pollution and environmental protection. Upon completion of my high school studies, I intend to focus on becoming a language major at National University to further my knowledge and process toward a career as a translator.

Phuong Le I was born and grew up in Lang Chanh, one of the poorest districts of Thanh Hoa Province where I study at the Ethnic Boarding secondary school. When I was 13, I won the third prize in the Secondary Student Science and Engineering Fair and I even had a chance to join the national one. Thanks to this competition, I gained more experience as well as self-confidence. Now I am an 11-grader at Thanh Hoa Ethnic Boarding High School and over the course of time, I have learned many skills such as being independent, leadership. I have joined many voluntary activities such as helping disadvantaged children in SOS village. I now do my best to become the best version of myself in order to contribute to the development of my country. I know I have to work harder to become a more valuable member of society in the future. 

 

Ms. Le Thuy Phuong

Phuong Le I am a girl coming from Lang Chanh district - a mountainous area of Thanh Hoa province who is interested in Science. When I was a 9 grader, I participated in a science and engineering competition within a project related to purifying water and I won the 3rd prize. The subject I like best is English as it helps me stay connected with people all over the world. Besides, I like dancing in my free time, which helps me relax and relieve stress. Now I am studying in class 11D at Thanh Hoa Ethnic Boarding high school. I have been an independent, responsible and confident person since I was a child. This is due to my parents’ upbringing and the fact that I live far from home. In the future, I want to travel around the world and I hope that I can make my dream come true one day. 

 

Ms. Bui Le Na

Na Bui I was born and grew up in Ba Thuoc district, a mountainous area in Thanh Hoa province. When I was little, I witnessed the difficulties that ethnic people had to face in their life. Therefore, during my 4 years at Secondary school, I participated in many activities and the most meaningful was when I was in grade 9, I started a charity program raising financial support for people affected by the flood in Na Meo commune. After this event, I really wanted to find the solution to help local people improve their life. Currently, I am 11 grader at Thanh Hoa Ethnic Boarding High School. I am an active girl who is independent and reliable in what I do and I am sure that everyone I know feels the same way. This may be the reason people trusted and voted me a leader of the Media team in my school. 

 

Mr. Quan Duoc Linh

Linh Quan I was born in a family of 4: My parents, my younger brother, and me. My parents are teachers. My younger brother is a grade 5 student. I was nurtured and educated thoughtfully. The first school I studied at is Tan My Primary School. After that, I decided to study at Chiem Hoa District Ethnic Boarding Secondary School. Since then, I started studying in a new habitat away from home when I was quite young. And now, I’m studying at Tuyen Quang Provincial Ethnic Boarding High School. In my studying process, I’ve achieved many awards and honors. Another special thing about me, that is my parents broke up when I was 6 and I have lived with my mother and my younger brother for 10 years. Because of those things, I was mature early and was aware what my responsibility. I see that I’m friendly, sociable, responsible, and reliable. 

 

Mr. Long Duy Ma

Ma Long My name is Long. My friends usually call me Boy Yen Hoa. I come from Yen Hoa commune, Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province. There are four people in my family that I live with: my parents and my younger sister. I studied at Yen Hoa primary school and secondary school. I lived far from home when I was 10, so I think I have experienced independent life in Na Hang boarding secondary school. Now, I am studying at Tuyen Quang boarding high. In my class, I am a sociable and enthusiastic person. My dream is to travel around the world. 

 

Ms. Lan Thi Huong Me

Me Lan I am a citizen of Vietnam. I come from Y Bang village, My Bang commune, Yen Son district, where I was born and grew up. I stay in a nuclear family with 6 members: my parents, my brother, my sister in law and their daughter. I studied in Y Bang primary school from grade 1 to 5 and grade 6 to 9 at My Bang secondary school. I used to be the monitor during grade 1 and 2. After that, I was the leader of all the students. Then I took an entrance exam to Tuyen Quang Ethnic Boarding high school. Since then, I have always been the best student in class. I am an energetic and enthusiastic student, and now I am practicing for the next contest for students who are good at English. 

 

Ms. Ha Huyen Linh

Linh Ha    My name is Ha Huyen Linh. I am the Tay - an ethnic minority group in Vietnam. I was born and raised in the countryside of Tuyen Quang, Vietnam. I studied at Hoa Phu Primary School and Hoa Phu Secondary School. Currently, I am an 11th grade student at Tuyen Quang Provincial Ethnic Boarding High school. I was graded as a good student from grade 1 to grade 10 and was on outstanding list when in middle or secondary school. I took part in the examination for gifted students during the years in secondary school and high school. I have won several awards in Math, Physics, Science and Technology. In addition, I also participated in other extracurricular activities such as planting trees, flowers and cleaning the road activities of the Youth Union of the commune, the “Organic fertilizer” project and “Helping the students” of the Access Micro scholarship program. 

 

Mr. Hung Thanh Nguyen

Nguyen Hung My name is Hung Thanh Nguyen, I was born in Ha Giang Province in 2004. Both of my parents are farmer and I love them so much. 

When I was a child my parents taught me that English is very important, "you must study English for a better future" my dad said.

At primary school I started studied English officially since 3rd grade. I have tried a lot to improve my English skills, at that time I was the best English learner for 8 years until when 2019 I applied for entrance examination in Tuyen Quang Provincial Ethnic boarding high school. In new school, I have more opponents to compete, I have failed to compete the 1st place because there a lot of students who learn English better than I do. I admit that I'm defeated, but that failure reminds me to study harder and now I'm taking the 4th place of English learners in my school. Not only do I take the 4th place but I also get involved in Access program with the highest entrance examination score. Now I'm trying to improve myself, to become better and better. 

 

Ms. Nguyen Trang Thuy

Trang My name is Nguyen Thuy Trang. I was born on December 29th, 2004 in Chiem Hoa, Tuyen Quang. I am a student of Tuyen Quang Provicial Ethnic Boarding High School. I am an honest, responsible and reliable person. I like reading books and travelling. When I was at secondary school, I participated in many English contests and achieved some prizes.

I also took part in some school curriculums such as cleaning Vietnam Veterans in my commune and donating for people in flooded area. I live in a family with my parents and my younger sister. My parents are both teacher and my sister is a student. In the future, I want to become a doctor to help patients and the needy. 

 

Mr. Nguyen Duong Anh Khoa

Nguyen DongMy name is Nguyen Duong Anh Khoa. I am 15 years old, I live in Tra Vinh. There are four members in my family, my father, my mother, younger brother and me. Now, I’m in grade 10 at Pham Thai Buong High School. At school I have a lot of friends who are all nice and friendly. Everyone says that I am an active and energetic person so they love spend time with me. My favorite subjects are History and English. My hobbies are cooking and reading books. Some of the favorite books are detective, historical and art. In my spare time, I like playing soccer with my friends and read a historical book. In the future, I will try to improve my English and knowledge on history to pursue the dream of becoming a tour guide.

Maille Moynahan My name is Phuong. There are four people in my family, my father, my mother, my little sister and I. I’m a student of Tra Vinh City High School and I’m in grade 11. I will turn 17 years old this June. I really like playing sports with my friends such as badminton, soccer, and jogging. Besides, I also love listening to chill-out music which helps me relax after class. At school, I’m good at History and Biology. I dream to become a tour guide because I really like traveling. I think one of the best ways to learn new things is to travel. I want to share my experience to other people about places I visited. By joining this program I would like to learn about the history and the culture of the host country so that I can share my journey with my friends. 

 

Ms. Dong Duong Minh Ngoc

Ngoc My name is Dong Duong Minh Ngoc. I’m 16 years old. I’m a student of Tra Vinh City High School. One of my favourite subjects at school is English and I have been studying English for 9 years. I often spend my free time studying  English, reading historical books and helping my mother do the housework. I’m good at swimming and I’m a great team player. I dream of working in a foreign company because I think it will help me have a good salary to take care of my family and gain new experiences. I have been studying in English Access Microscholarship program for about 6 months and my English skills have gradually improved. I want to make friends with people from other countries so I can learn more interesting things about other countries and introduce them about Vietnam.

Huynh My name is Man Gia Huynh. I am from Tra Vinh, Vietnam. Currently, I am studying at Nguyen Thien Thanh High School. My favorite free time activity is watching U.S or UK movies. I usually watch movies every Sunday evening with my family. I am a friendly person, I love meeting people and making friends. I really like learning English, and I want to be a teacher of English in the future. For me, being a teacher is a noble and a meaningful job because I can help young students acquire new knowledge. Being selected to join in this program not only helps me fulfill my dream but also helps me to access the international learning environment. Meeting many international friends and studying in this environment will help me improve English skills.

Lauren Riley I live in a nuclear family with my parents and my elder sister. My parents are a mason, a very hard. My sister is a staff in a small company. And I'm a student at Vu Dinh Lieu Highschool. I'm in grade 11. I think my strength is learning and acquiring new things quickly. Besides, I can sing confidently in front of a crowd. I'm very honest, humble and having my own principle in arranging study and free time. Especially, I'm very patience and determination when doing tasks. My hobby is helping people around such as helping the elders cook and talk with them, donating food, old clothes and toys to poor children. I want to become a tour guide in the future, I hope I can learn English better and introduce to foreigners about beautiful scenes of Viet Nam.

Nhi My full name is Nguyen Thi Nhi. I’m 17 years old. I'm in grade 11 and I’m studying at Vu Dinh Lieu High School. There are 5 people in my family including my parents, my elder brother, my younger brother and I. My father is a farmer and my mother is a housewife, my younger brother is only 4 years old now. My favorite subjects are natural science subjects and languages. On weekends, I sometimes go swimming with my friends. I go to the gym every day because I think having a good health is very important. In the future, I would like to become a doctor to take care of my family and people in my community because I think a healthy community will make a prosperous country. 

 

Mr. Huynh Anh Quoc

Quoc My name is Anh Quoc, which means "The United Kingdom" in English. My hometown is Nha Trang City. I am in grade 10 and going to Ly Tu Trong High School in Nha Trang. My hobbies are playing guitar, reading scientific books, researching scientific knowledge and traveling. After school, I'd like to spend time playing guitar, learning English and recently, I am starting to learn Japanese.

LinhMy name is Phuong Linh. I was born and raised in Nha Trang in Vietnam. I'm currently studying at Hoang Van Thu high school, I have loved my studies there, especially in English class, I love studying English because I could learn the ways to communicate with foreigners around the world. I often enjoy my free time by going outside with my friends or listening to music. I think listening to music can cheer me up when I'm tired after schooltime. In the future, I want to be a tour guide because I want to travel around the world, discover different cultures in many countries. Another reason is that I want to introduce to millions of people around the world about my beautiful country -Vietnam.

Cora Stone I am glad for this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Nguyen Ngoc Phuong Nga and I am sixteen. I am currently studying at Hermann Gmeiner School. My family has two people: I and my mother. I am very friendly so I can make more friends. In free time I usually play badminton with my friends and especially, I have passion for listening to music and dancing. In addition, studying grammar at school, I also read many English comics and watch film with English title sub.

I have a dream to be a doctor, because when I watch movies about the doctors, I see they are so cool, and I also want to be a person like them to help more people in all over the world in general and my country in particular. I live with my grandparents, sometimes I cook with them because it’s fun. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my brothers as well as family members.
