Summer Programs

Summer is perhaps the most beautiful time at UM. The park-like campus becomes lush and green beneath the Montana big sky. As the academic year winds down and students leave for the summer, UM opens up for conferences, training, youth events, sports and athletic groups, religious groups and special events. During this time of year, parking is especially available.

As the students leave for the summer, UM welcomes overnight guests in the Residence Halls. Clean, comfortable and conveniently located, a single bed, closet, dresser, study table, chair, curtains and wastebasket is provided. Both wired in-room internet and courtesy guest wireless is available for visitors. A courtesy phone is offered for local calls.

Food Zoo

The Food Zoo is UM’s dining hall, open for group meals in the summer. Bring a large group and be sure that many options are available for any dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and Halal meats.

Campus Rec Center

Hit the gym during your stay. Play basketball, use the weight room or even hit our climbing wall, a favorite on campus. Open to visitors, this is a fun and healthy option for summer groups to get some movement in.

UM Outdoor Program

As a rental shop, bicycle and ski repair shop and springboard for classes and trips, the UM Outdoor Program is a great place to start when planning an outdoor adventure. Friendly and experienced staff will craft any trip you can think up. Whether you want to go whitewater rafting down the Alberton Gorge or just take a guided nature walk, the UM Outdoor Program will make sure your trip is both safe and meets your intended outcomes. Ask about incorporating a team-building aspect into a night at the climbing wall or a rafting trip.
