Keys to Success
Law School admission committees take into account the following aspects of an application:
- GPA and LSAT scores;
- Letters of Recommendation;
- Familiarity with the field;
- Extra-curricular activities;
- Character: discipline, commitment;
- Vision for the future.
Your academic skills, as reflected in your GPA, your LSAT score, and your letters of recommendation, count the most. That said, they are not the whole story. Your experience in the legal field and your involvement in the community, as reflected in your résumé, are also very important. Finally, the kind of person you are, your background, and your commitment to making the world a better place from a unique perspective that is your own, are also crucial components of your application. They should be clearly stated in your personal statement.
