The Office of the Provost uses Interfolio for paperless faculty evaluations. We will be updating this page with information about upcoming training sessions training materials, and information about the faculty evaluation process.

Training Sessions on the Faculty Evaluation Process in Interfolio for AY23-24

Three training sessions are planned for audiences with different roles in the Faculty Evaluation (FE) process: for FE managers supporting the process in the academic units and in deans' offices, for faculty members planning to submit IPRs this year, and for reviewers who will be reviewing FE records in Interfolio. Josh Flores Groomer and Brooke Belanger from the Office of the Provost will lead you step by step through the process and answer your questions.

Single Sign - On

When signing in, faculty members should use the Partner Institution option, search University of Montana, and sign on using their Single Sign - On (SSO) credentials--- UM NetID and Password.If the “Use Single Sign On” button does not appear initially, they should enter their umontana (not MSO) email address. That will automatically redirect them to the UM NetID login page. Please be aware that Interfolio uses the term “Review, Promotion & Tenure,” but this does not necessarily reflect the given process at the University of Montana. “Review, Promotion & Tenure” is synonymous with the UM Faculty Evaluation process.

This self-paced, interactive course covers the various administrative settings, creation of templates, creation and management of review committees and cases, and the reporting options using Review, Promotion, and Tenure.

Receiving Email Notifications from Interfolio

The emails FE managers send via the Interfolio platform prompting faculty to take action at various steps in the FE process appear in faculty member’s inbox as coming from “University of Montana <noreply@interfolio.com>”. We recommend faculty members create a rule in their email inbox directing all emails from Interfolio to a single folder so they can locate them easily

Implicit Bias Awareness

Implicit bias can influence faculty evaluation outcomes. The Office of the Provost strongly encourages FEC members, FEC Chairs, Department Chairs/Directors, and Deans to explore the resources below and actively work to create awareness about implicit bias in the context of faculty evaluation.
