Why conduct faculty evaluation?

Faculty evaluations are a necessary part of University and unit standards. The faculty evaluation process is outlined in CBA and MC CBA sections 10.000 as part of the faculty contract at UM.

These standards apply to all members of the bargaining units (the University Faculty Association, or UFA, and the Missoula College Faculty Association, or MCFA.)

CBAs section 3.100 defines members of the bargaining units as "faculty on an academic or fiscal year appointment to the rank of instructor, assistant professor, associate professor, and professor with appointments that are half-time or greater. In addition, adjunct faculty on term-by-term appointment who are half-time or greater... for two or more successive semesters, excluding summer, shall be included in the bargaining unit concurrent with the second semester appointment."
