Charge
For this position, we are seeking a dynamic and visionary academic with administrative and faculty experience who can lead the Blewett School of Law during an exciting and transitional time. Given the momentum on campus, based on the priorities for action and Strategic Enrollment Planning, this is an opportune time to bring an experienced leader to the School of Law. As the only law school in Montana, with exceptional donor and alumni support, the Blewett School of Law is positioned for increased strength and growth. Let this serve as a charge to the search committee to bring in extraordinary candidates capable of building upon this strong foundation and realizing the Blewett School of Law’s potential.
The successful candidate must work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals across campus and across the local and regional legal communities. They must continue the upward trend in Blewett School of Law enrollments as well as bar passage and placement rates. The dean must understand the unique role the Blewett School of Law plays within the fabric of the larger University as well as in the national legal landscape. And, they must have a vision for the future of the School of Law and the ability to reach out to alumni, donors, and other stakeholders and share that vision with them.
