Animal User Rates and Per Diems

Per Diem Rates

Per diem rates cover animal husbandry costs which include:

  1. A standard maintenance diet
  2. Cage, equipment, and facility washing and sanitizing
  3. Bedding to meet the requirements of the type of animal
  4. Enrichment
  5. Animal care supplies used in the animal holding area (cleaning, disinfectants, etc.)
  6. Protective clothing including lab coats, gloves, shoe covers, masks, respirators, and goggles

Other Animal User Fees and Rates

Internal animal user fees and rates assessed for:

  1. LAR special services rate
  2. Quarantine
  3. Animal orders (cost of animals + shipping)
  4. Deportation of animals
  5. LAR staff and AV experimental work

External animal user fees and rates assessed for:

  1. Per diem rate
  2. LAR special services rate
  3. Quarantine
  4. Animal orders (cost of animals + shipping)
  5. Deportation of animals
  6. LAR staff and AV experimental work
  7. Animal Use Protocol review by IACUC
  8. Facility user fee
  9. CITI training courses
  10. OH&S Risk Assessment
  11. Biosafety application review by IBC
