Proposal Development Office Staff
The Proposal Development Office is committed to increasing and diversifying external funding at the University of Montana. Toward this end, we are dedicated to (1) providing assistance with seeking external funding; (2) training individuals to independently seek and procure funding; (3) facilitating interdisciplinary collaborations; and (4) providing the resources and tools necessary for researchers to successfully prepare grant proposals.
Katherine currently serves as the proposal development manager. In her role, she oversees the coordination of proposal development activities on campus, including developing training materials for researchers, facilitating collaborations, seeking funding opportunities, reviewing previous submissions for likelihood of success in a future competition, and other necessary tasks.
Katherine has over 15 years of experience as a proposal development specialist having worked with a wide range of organizations, including schools, Native American Tribes, Tribal Colleges, private foundations and institutions of higher education. In her experience, she has worked on over 200 proposals, helping to secure over $45M in funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Department of Justice, Department of Education, Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Treasury, Bureau of Indian Affairs, National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Fish and Wildlife Service, and several private foundations.
