Deadline for IRB Submission

No Deadline for Minimal Risk Studies (expedited and exempt levels of review)

The IRB Checklist/Application may be submitted at any time, along with any other required forms or documents.

  • Please download the most current version of the forms from the IRB Forms page
  • Email applications to irb@umontana.edu or deliver hard copies to the IRB office in the Interdisciplinary Science Building (ISB), room 104
  • Please contact the IRB office at (406) 243-6672 if you have questions.


Deadline for Full Committee Review:  1st Business Day of the Month 

If review from the full committee is required, documents must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the 1st business day of the month in order to be sent to the IRB members at least three (3) weeks prior to the monthly IRB meeting. If the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, applications may be submitted the following business day.  Principal Investigators will be informed of the committee's decision by email within a week following the IRB meeting. As revisions are often required, please allow four to eight weeks for final approval to be obtained.  

Full Committee Meeting Dates - Fall 2021

September 22, 2PM – 4PM
October 22, 2PM – 4PM
November 23, 2PM – 4PM
December 21, 2PM – 4PM



Note: Meetings will be canceled if there are no proposals up for full committee review.
