Staff Senate Nominations and Elections
Service on the Staff Senate is interesting and rewarding for classified staff members who want to make a difference in the lives of University staff. The Staff Senate enjoys the support and cooperation of the President of the University of Montana and his/her administration. Senators are actively involved in campus activities and University committees. Senators are granted release time to meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to noon to attend Staff Senate meetings.
The Staff Senate seats Senators from each of the following staff categories:
- Professional Category (C-30)
- Crafts Category (F-60)
- Technical Category (D-40)
- Service Category (G-70)
- Clerical Category (E-50)
- Missoula College
If you are interested in the work of the Staff Senate, please consider attending one of the monthly Staff Senate meetings. If you are interested in serving as a Staff Senator, please express your interest to a current Senator or the Chair of the Staff Senate Bylaws Committee. We urge you to consider placing your name in nomination or to submit the name of a qualified candidate. (If nominating another staff member, please get her/his permission first.)
To become a senator, a candidate must have completed six months of continuous employment at The University of Montana on or before June 1 of the year in which his/her term shall begin.
