Sculpture 1 (ARTZ 251A): Introduction to fundamental technical skills and new processes in various materials. Further development of the formal concerns within three-dimensional design. Issues of content and formal criticism as it relates to personal expression.
Photography (ARTZ 384): Exploration of photography as an art form. Survey of different approaches to cameras, films, chemical and digital processes and presentation techniques with and emphasis on content and personal expression.
The School of Art at the University of Montana has a vibrant visiting artist program; hosting an average of 6-12 visiting artist each year. Through the support of the Jim and Jane Dew Foundation these visiting artist enhance the School of Art’s curriculum, as well as enrich the community. Artists of national and international recognition are invited to campus to provide students and faculty with a variety of meaningful experiences and professional development.
