I chose to study at Missoula College because the programs meet my needs as a nontraditional student and prepare me for my future career goals.
HEO 150T incorporates learned skills into entry-level, industrial situations. Emphasis is placed on advanced equipment usage, problem definition and resolution, project-type earth moving assignments, proper equipment and safety regulations. This course allows participation in cooperative projects in the community.
Students in SRVY 108 learn the basic principles of surveying and the use of surveying equipment. Coursework includes calculation of angles and distances to determine grade elevations, as well as introduction to Global Positioning Systems, lasers and their relationship to the heavy equipment operator.
The Heavy Equipment Operation program provides students a basic understanding of fundamental machine functions and develops apprentice-level skills in the operation of heavy equipment.
