You know how important Calculus is, and maybe you already took a Calculus course. But why does Calculus really work? Take M 381 and discover the theory behind Calculus (and really understand the epsilons and deltas).

In M 467, students work on mathematical and statistical problems involving huge data sets that are provided by local and national companies and organizations. The solutions found by the students have real-world applications.

All the math and statistics courses aimed at math majors are fairly small – no larger than 30 students – and nearly all of them are taught by tenure-track faculty. Once you complete the core, an advisor helps you choose your advanced course work according to your interests from a variety of areas in the mathematical sciences, ranging from pure and applied mathematics, to mathematics education, statistics and data science. There is also a combined major in Computer Science and Mathematics.
