High School Students

Welcome to Summer Exploration 2022!

Summer Exploration is an intensive, hands-on transformational learning opportunity with our faculty in a live-in, shared two-week experience. Students will engage in the classroom during the day and in meaningful social activities in the evenings and during the weekend.

Where? The University of Montana (Missoula, MT.) and/or a backpacking and camping trip via the Wild Rockies Field Institute (Montana) 

When? Saturday, July 16 - Friday, July 29, 2022

Why? Students will be exposed to all aspects of life as a UM student. Out-of-state and in-state high school students will earn two college credits and have a choice from three course listings (Introduction to Public Health and Health Sciences OR Montana Habitats OR Environmental Ethics: Climate Change and Sense of Place.) Accepted students will be enrolled into one of the courses to participate in for the two week duration. 

Cost: $2,800 (course fee, room and board, all meals and program costs.

There is no cost for Montana GEAR UP students.
