Dale Raoul is known for her work in theatre, film, and TV. She is notable for playing Maxine Fortenberry in the HBO series True Blood.

Dale Raoul is a proud native of Missoula who attended Paxson and Roosevelt grade schools and became a serious theatre nerd at Hellgate High School. Dale’s first memory of seeing a play live was when her mother took her to see a romantic comedy at the Missoula Community Theatre in what is now the Roxy. She can’t remember the title of the play but she can definitely remember sitting in the audience and feeling something magical. dale-2.jpg

Dale returned to California to enhance her resume which now includes over 160 television episodes and films. Her first job was on Murder, She Wrote and she was thrilled and terrified to have dialogue with Angela Lansbury.  Other highlights include A Blast from The Past, The Mexican, The Lawnmower Man, The Bronze, Friends, The Office, The Middle, Grey’s Anatomy, NYPD Blue, LA Law, Designing Women, Six Feet Under, Royal Pains, Fresh Off the Boat, Bones, Young Sheldon, Seinfeld and two seasons on Stephen King’s Under the Dome.  A particularly happy memory was working on the film Out to Sea dancing with Jack Lemmon and Donald O’Connor.

Dale was cast as the wildly inappropriate Mama Maxine Fortenberry, on HBO’s mega hit True Blood and went on to appear in the show for its’ entire run of seven seasons.  Dale was delighted that Rolling Stone Magazine listed her character as one of the nastiest television moms.
