• Clinical faculty affiliates may be associated with a specific academic unit of the University for the purposes of research and/or academic oversight.
• Those who hold these courtesy appointments have the opportunity to contribute to the instructional, research, creative activity, or service functions of the University.

Process

New Affiliates

New clinical faculty affiliates can be approved at any time during the year by completing the Clinical Faculty Affiliate application. In the application, please indicate the program for which you are seeking a clinical faculty affiliation.

Once the electronic form has been submitted and signed by the head of UM Health & Medicine, it is routed to the Provost's Office for final approval and processing.

Network Access Benefit

Twenty four hours after the affiliate has completed the approval process and is entered in Banner with a University ID the person can utilize online services; To access these services the NetID should be used for authentication purposes. More information on NetIDs and the associated password

Renewals

Clinical faculty affiliate appointments are automatically renewed September 30th each year. The head of UM Health & Medicine is responsible for reviewing and requesting changes of affiliate status.
