University of Montana FAQ for Kaplan Credegree Programs
I am a registered University of Montana student. Can I use financial aid to pay for Kaplan courses?
Kaplan course registration does not go through UM’s Cyberbear system, instead students pay for Kaplan registration fees in the Kaplan portal using a credit card. If your financial aid package includes additional funds for other school-related expenses, you can use those funds to pay Kaplan fees, but it will not be processed through UM’s financial aid office or Business Services. Credegree courses do not count toward UM tuition flat spot.
Will Kaplan courses show up on my UM transcript?
No, Kaplan courses are managed through a separate registration process that is not linked to UM’s Cyberbear system.
Will Kaplan course credits count toward my UM major or minor?
No UM credit is offered for Kaplan courses at this time.
Are there other costs associated with Kaplan courses in addition to the registration fee?
Some courses have text book requirements, specific software requirements, or an additional fee for tests related to certifications. Be sure to check with UM’s IT department to find out if there are student licenses available for the software you may need to access for a course before paying for it.
