Courses

 HM Valett contributes to the core curriculum for the Systems Ecology Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (SE IGP), a collaboration between the Division of Biological Sciences (DBS) in the UM College of Humanities and Sciences and the UM College of Forestry and Conservation.  The SE IGP enjoys a broad participation by a range of faculty across the campus including participants from the School of Business Administration, Geography, DBS, Ecosystem and Conservation Science, and Society and Conservation, to name a few of the departments involved.

Dr. Valett teaches:

 BIOS 532 - Fundamentals of Ecosytem Ecology: one of the core courses required for SE graduate students that addresses the concepts and perspectives at the origin and modern applications of ecoystem science

 BIOS 505-01 - Stream Ecology: a course addressing how ecological principles are advanced through studies of running waters and how understanding of lotic ecosystems relates to ecological form and function

 BIOS 595-02 - Stable Isotopes in Ecology: a primer for the uses and applications of light isotope chemistry in ecological investigations
