Cascade 8 Pre-Launch Checklist

If you are new to Cascade 8, here is a checklist of steps that we reccomend to try out in the new system before you get started. These are not mandatory, just suggestions to help you get familiar with the new system.

Login

Go to cascade.umt.edu and log in with your NetID.

PLEASE NOTE: Access to Cascade can be requested through our Request Assistance Page.

Select a Site

Go to the Site Selector in the upper left and select one of your sites.

Review Your Site

Review the assets appearing on the left hand navigation of Cascade. These assets should reflect the content of your site from a few weeks ago. Familiarize yourself with the new icons for different assets (what block/image/page icons look like now).

PLEASE NOTE: We have configured the left-hand site assets column to show the System Name just like Cascade 7 used to.

 

Try Editing a Page

Select an existing page from your site, Click the EDIT button (upper right), locate the content to change and make your changes. When finished click SAVE & PREVIEW (upper right). You are viewing a draft – to permanently save changes to the current version of the page, click SUBMIT.

 

Try Creating a New Page

Click Add Content button (red + on Cascade menu). Select a new page. Enter your content. When finished click SAVE & PREVIEW (upper right). You are viewing a draft – to permanently save the new page, click SUBMIT.

 

Try Publishing

Open a page or other asset. Click the “Publish” button (upper right), or right-click on the asset in your left hand navigation and select “Publish” from the drop down. We always reccomend publishing to Staging first and previewing before publishing to Production.
