Personal Summary

Carissa is an Assistant International Program Officer at the Mansfield Center. She completed her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. During her studies Carissa was able to participate in a 6 week faculty-directed study abroad program focusing on history and photography in the Baltics (Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia). Through this experience she found an interest in intercultural studies and has worked with international students and scholars from over 20 different countries since. Carissa was fortunate to be able to co-lead the faculty-directed program to the Baltics 2 additional times through EMU. She previously worked with UM's Global Engagement Office as the English Language Institute Office Coordinator and Humphrey Fellowship Program Coordinator. Carissa is excited to be part of the Mansfield Center and back at the University of Montana.

Hobbies

Outside of work Carissa enjoys spending time outside (running, backpacking, hiking), reading, and sending snail mail letters to friends.
