Personal Summary

As a Program Officer at the Mansfield Center, Rachel supports the development of globally-minded leaders of integrity through the Sports Diplomacy: Sport for Social Change programs in Latin America.

Originally from Indiana, Rachel studied English Writing and Spanish at DePauw University. Her international experience includes faculty-directed programs in Peru, China, and France as well as a semester of study in Salamanca, Spain. She collaborated with many international peers as a Writing Tutor for DePauw's Academic Resource Center and a Teaching Assistant for the English Immersion Institute for International Students. After graduation, she joined the Teach For America Corps and earned a master's degree in teaching. She has four years of experience teaching high school Spanish.

Rachel's previous roles coupled with her international experience and interest in intercultural exchange led her to the Mansfield Center, where she leads two-way exchanges focused on using sports as a tool for positive social change. These exchanges engage youth and adults in programming designed to achieve goals such as empowering girls in sport, increasing inclusion of marginalized communities, and fostering confidence, teamwork, and responsibility in youth who will become future community leaders.
