Personal Summary

As the Director of Civic Engagement, Katie is committed to utilizing her 20 years of policy and political advocacy experience to advance Senator Mansfield’s legacy of patriotic statesmanship. Katie supports the Mansfield mission by creating and overseeing opportunities for youth and community members to address critical challenges facing our country by strengthening democracy collaboratively.

Katie spent her childhood in the Bitterroot Valley on a family farm initially settled by her great-grandparents. Shortly after graduating from Carroll College, she relocated from Montana to Washington D.C., where she developed her professional career working in bi-partisan government relations departments for top national healthcare and education trade associations and a Fortune 100 corporation. She also has experience working in state government, for the Montana legislature, and as a Congressional staffer.

Katie is a reader, hiker, traveler, Barefoot Contessa enthusiast, and volunteer for various groups, primarily the Missoula Public Library.

She is thrilled to have joined the Mansfield Center in early 2024. She looks forward to joining forces with the broad network of exceptional partners who share the commitment to the Mike and Maureen Mansfield example of ethical leadership and integrity.
