Katheryn Jarvis Coggon

Katheryn Coggon works as special counsel lawyer for the Denver-based Holme Roberts & Owen LLP as part of the firm’s environmental/toxic tort and intellectual property practice groups. Coggon worked for W.R. Grace following the Environmental Protection Agency’s 104E request for information in 1999 – a process in which the government sought information from Grace related to the ongoing Superfund cleanup in Libby.
Originally from Havre, Mont., Coggon (maiden name Jarvis) was an all-star high school track athlete, winning ten state championships in cross-country during the early 1980’s – often competing on Libby’s high school track.
After high school, Coggon went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in nuclear engineering from Arizona State University in 1991 and Juris Doctorate from Lewis and Clark Northwestern School of Law in 1994 — the same school attended by prosecuting attorney Kevin Cassidy.
According to her online profile, Coggon has “substantial experience in the defense of toxic tort suits, as well as enforcement and cost recovery actions under the Clean Air Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA or Superfund), the Clean Water Act, the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act, and their state analogs.”
