African American Studies Director Speaks at UM Democracy Summit

Dr. Tobin Miller Shearer, Professor of History and director of the UM African-American Studies Program, presented at the recent Democracy Summit held on March 27.  His talk, Speaking Across the Chasm: Lessons from the Civil Rights Movement told stories and gave examples from African-American History of how to make connections across the political, social, and cultural divides that faces us today.
