The training ran from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. that day, and 62 people attended, including all school staff from their elementary, middle, and high schools. The training schedule covered ALERRT, presented by UM Police Chief Brad Giffin, Incidence Command System, Standard Response Protocol, and Threat Assessment, presented by Montana Safe Schools Center staff. Superior School Administration had dedicated time during the day to meet and discuss their incident command response protocol with their community agencies. During that time, teachers and school staff conducted a walkthrough of their building to assess physical school safety. Superior School District is in the process of updating its emergency operations plans and formalizing school policy on Incident Command, standard response, and threat assessment.
