Help Inspire a Love of Learning at MLK Day of Service

Happy New Year, volunteers!

Though Spring Semester is still a couple weeks away, one of our Nation's biggest days of Service, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is just around the corner. Montana Campus Compact and ELCS are partnering to coordinate MLK Read for Peace, a statewide service project that places college students, community volunteers, and AmeriCorps national service members in kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms to read age-appropriate books to students about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and lead them in activities that invite them to reflect on how they promote peace and equality in their own lives.

We are looking for 3-5 volunteers to lead or assist teaching an MLK Read for Peace lesson for 4th graders at Lewis & Clark Elementary, Friday January 12th from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Please email Jenah at jenah.mead@mso.umt.edu to sign up or for more information.
