The Franke Global Leadership Initiative (GLI) at the University of Montana creates an opportunity for students to ask some of the most pressing questions of the 21st century while gaining the skills necessary to find the answers.
UM’s Franke Global Leadership Initiative is a four-year, 12-credit certificate program that provides undergraduate students unique experiences through a community of learners. Franke GLI enriches academic learning by combining practical experiences with classroom education. The program gives students access to world-class leaders and provides opportunities to explore society’s questions either locally or around the world. It’s about the connection of community and creativity as students from different disciplines come together and harness their diversity to tackle real-world problems with fresh ideas.
Each year, Franke GLI welcomes a broadly representative group of students to participate as fellows. The program enriches and enhances the UM experience by providing students with interdisciplinary coursework, out-of-classroom experiences, advising, and support. This enables our fellows to critically examine global challenges and achieve genuine confidence in their knowledge and abilities.
Made possible through the support of private donations, the Franke GLI program admits just 150 students each fall semester. To be a part of this transformational learning opportunity, apply today. Admission to the Franke GLI is on a first-come, first-served basis.
