On Saturday November 16th 2019, a group of students from the Linguistics Program, with Program director Mizuki Miyashita, attended the Alberta Conference on Linguistics. The conference was held at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada. There were three talks and one poster representing the University of Montana's Linguistics Program: An empirical investigation of the syllabicity of [X] in Blackfoot (Dr. Mizuki Miyashita); Kʷeƛ ep Qe Soxʷèp (Aspen Decker); Reaffirming the CoLang Spirit (Jarrett Hopewell, Madeleine Shek, Emily Cahoon, Aspen Decker, and Meriah Horseman); Relative clauses as a Crow code-switching strategy (David Heath).
