Residential Parking

All passes are now semi-annual. Parking passes for fall 2023 are good from August 1st to January 31st. Commuter parking permits are limited, so please plan ahead. If you do not receive a semester parking pass this fall, spring permits will go on sale in mid-December. You are also welcome to purchase daily or hourly parking in any of UM’s commuter lots with the Passport app.

On-Campus Resident Pass: $139.00/semester

Parking on Mountain Campus is limited. Students living in residence halls may only park in lots H, J, or K (overnight lots). These lots fill on a first-come, first-served basis, and students are not assigned a designated spot. Only on-campus resident students are allowed to park in these lots, and a pass is mandatory from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F.

If you cannot find parking in lots H, J, or K, you may also park at the Dornblaser Park & Ride or Missoula College, both used as on-campus overflow overnight parking. You may move your vehicle to other parking lots on campus any time after 5:00 pm until 7:00 am. If you need to get to campus from Dornblaser or Missoula College,  the UDASH buses serve campus at least every 20 minutes during the school year. Grizwalk is available after dusk and before dawn if you need a ride to Mountain Campus from a Park & Ride lot.

View the parking map.

Students who live in UM residence halls are encouraged to consider whether having a car on campus is necessary. Most on-campus residents use their cars infrequently (mostly for holiday breaks). UM offers subsidized bike rentals, free buses, and other options to get to your destinations around Missoula without a car.

Lewis & Clark or University Villages Pass: No Cost

Students living at Lewis & Clark Villages or University Villages may park in the parking facilities at their residence at no cost but still need to sign up for a "no cost" permit. UM Parking Services needs to know which vehicles are associated with apartment residents in order to enforce parking.

UDASH's Red Line and Blue Line serve both areas. Students may ride free to campus each day of the school year. Mountain Line's Routes 1 & 12 also serve South Ave and Arthur Ave. If you want to drive from Lewis & Clark or University Villages to the Mountain Campus, you will need to purchase hourly or daily parking with the Passport app. Student commuter permits will not be sold to UM-owned apartment residents.

Motorcycle: $26.00/semester

Students must park in designated motorcycle stalls.
