Banner Support

What is Banner? 

UM faculty and staff use the Banner system for key administrative functions and data management. Banner is a web-based, graphic user interface that enables employees to process everything from payroll to finances to student records.  UM has installed the following Banner modules:

  • Accounts Receivable
  • Finance
  • Financial Aid
  • Human Resources
  • Student

How to get a Banner Account

For a Banner Account fill out the electronic Banner Account Request form.

Please be as specific as possible about what forms/pages you need to access in Banner.  If you want your access to be the same as a co-worker be sure to include that information.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  If you are requesting access to Student data you must complete FERPA training.  Any questions on this requirement should be directed to the Registrar’s Office.

Go to UM Solutions Center for Banner training articles, tips and module specific information or you may visit the Ellucian training portal and use the filter to view Introductory training resources that are free and do not require the licensed sign-in.  For questions on Ellucian's subscription based training, contact bannerhelp@umontana.edu.

Please visit the Solutions Center for Banner training articles, tips and module specific information.  There may also be some training videos available through our Ellucian training portal. You must create an Ellucian account then click on the Quick Action of Training to view the available training.
