Current Student Resources

The University of Montana enjoys a diverse group of students. On the average we have students from 72 different countries. Our foreign student enrollment is over 500 students.

The Foreign Student & Scholar Services(FSSS) office provides advising on government regulations and a wealth of services. FSSS coordinates cultural activities, fieldtrips, a speaker's bureau(community outreach), a community hospitality program for students and the annual International Culture and Food Festival. Many of these activities are in collaboration with the International Student Group (ISA), Missoula International Friendship Program (MIFP), other UM offices and other student groups.

FSSS also maintains the International House (I-House) as a center for intercultural activities and programs. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the I-House for cooking or get-togethers. Reservations with the resident managers are required outside of Open Hours.

Every week the FSSS office sends out an electronic newsletter "Nuggets" to all students and scholars. This email contains immigration information, activites and other pertinent information. Please be sure to check the "Nuggets" weekly.

At the beginning of Fall and Spring semesters, we also send out a newsletter. The newsletter contains a long-term view of the semester and you are encouraged to refer to it throughout the semester.
