Facts and Figures
The Common Data Set originated as a set of standards and definitions intended to allow easier comparison of schools. Based on input from the U.S. Department of Education, the set comprises general college information, admissions, enrollment expense and fnancial aid data, along with facts about student life.
The Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange (CSRDE), based at the University of Oklahoma and often referred to as "The Oklahoma Study," was founded a data exchange for college retention and graduation data. A diverse membership of over 350 institutions contribute to four annual retention reports. CSRDE data are widely considered the standard for reporting and comparing retention, as they examine retention and graduation rates by race/ethnicity and gender against intitutional characteristics such as selectivity, size, and control. The CSRDE cohort is for full-time, first time (in college), bachelor degree-seeking freshmen enrolling each fall. Note CSRDE reports represent a fall-only cohort
