On December 12th, 2013, the Office of International Programs (OIP) hosted its biannual ‘International Education Celebration’ at the Payne Family Native American Center at the University of Montana. Community members from across the university were recognized, including;

• Sponsored international students from the ‘Brazil Science Mobility’ and the ‘Global U-Grad, Pakistan’ programs who completed their programs and were returning home
• UM students preparing to study abroad during spring semester, 2014
• UM faculty members who received a short-term international activity grant from OIP

Through these activities and others OIP works to accomplish its mission of promoting and providing international life-changing experiences and related educational opportunities, serving as a resource that contributes to the culture of a globally-minded community. After formal presentations attendees mingled and shared stories of their soon-to-finish and upcoming international activity. As Provost Brown reminded them, regardless of where they came from or where they were going, they’re all part of the UM Griz family.

The next International Education Celebration will be held in May, 2014.Study abroad students share their experiences.
