Lexi Smith (She/Her) is the President of Mortar Board Honor Society, Penetralia Chapter. She is majoring in forestry and minoring in ecological restoration. Lexi works as mail clerk in the UC ShipEx; as a caretaker through Big Sky Nanny; and as a learning assistant for the W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation, where she helps first-year forestry students understand foundational concepts and use fundamental forest tools.  She is also the Student Chair of the Society of American Foresters. Lexi was named a Udall Scholar in 2021, and has worked for the United States Forest Service and Missoula Forestry Sciences Laboratory. She is from Kealakekua, Hawai'i, and loves hiking, dogs, and the German language.

Alis Auch (She/Her) is the Vice President of Mortar Board Honor Society, Penetralia Chapter. She is a third year marketing major, born in Indiana, but moved to Corvallis, Montana when she was 6 years old. She is a member of the Global Leadership Initiative and plans to move onto Law School once she graduates. In her free time, Alis enjoys weightlifting, dancing, reading, learning new things, and organizing.

Sebastian Driver (He/Him) is the Treasurer and Co-Membership Chair of Mortar Board Honor Society, Penetralia Chapter. He is a wildlife biology major, student of the Davidson Honors College and Montana10. Sebastian has taken summer courses at the Flathead Biological Lake Station and presented research at UMCUR and the Western Regional Honors Conference. You can often find Sebastian reading, fishing, sketching landscapes, and walking his dogs.

 

Stephan Cardella (He/Him) is the Major Events Chair of Mortar Board Honors Society, Penetralia Chapter. He also operates as Membership Assistant. 

 

Jordan Jarrell (She/Her) is the Service and Events Chair  and Co-Membership Chair of Mortar Board Honors Society, Penetralia Chapter. She also operates as Social Chair. Jordan is a mathematics major, graduating Fall 2022. She's from a small ranching town called Helmville, that she visits every weekend. Jordan comes from a large family of 7 and has a dog named Rocky, that she misses. She enjoys video games, cooking, and reading.

Casey Denson (They/Them) is the Co-Membership Chair of Mortar Board Honors Society, Penetralia Chapter. Casey is a political science major concentrating in American Politics, Public Administration, and Public Policy. They enjoy community organizing and finding solutions to issues in public lands access and conservation. You can find them in the backcountry guiding backpacking trips or on a horse and in the front country getting out the vote and advocating for human rights.

Chelsey Porter is the Fiscal and Personnel Manager at the University of Montana’s Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center and is honored to serve as a Mortar Board advisor. Chelsey is a 2006 graduate from UM’s Environmental Studies program, and from her experience as an EVST student, she learned the importance of advocacy and community service by volunteering with various Missoula non-profit groups, as well as interning for MontPIRG and the Program in Ecological Agriculture and Society (PEAS) Farm.  After college, Chelsey had the pleasure of engaging with the community via volunteer leadership roles with Missoula’s Dolce Canto Board of Directors, UM’s Staff Senate, UM’s Diversity Advisory Council and Missoula's Standing Alongside America's Muslims. Before working at the Mansfield Center, she was the Administrative Associate at UM’s Defense Critical Language and Culture Program, where she gained extensive administrative knowledge regarding UM policies and procedures. Chelsey hopes to apply her leadership and administrative skills to her role as Mortar Board advisor. She is very proud to guide this outstanding and dedicated group of students.
