Dear Campus Community:

As part of the University of Montana’s commitment to building a campus that accelerates women’s careers of impact, we are re-launching the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) for the 2019-2020 academic year. A new partnership with the Missoula Federal Credit Union (MFCU) and private donor support have made this possible.

The WLI supports participants in leadership training and network building to establish a culture of support for women in leadership. Dr. Nicky Phear has agreed to serve as WLI Coordinator next year, and the initiative will continue to be part of the suite of leadership programs housed within UM’s Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center.   

I’m especially excited that the 2019-2020 cohort of WLI participants will include 10 UM employees and two MFCU employees. Bringing UM and MCFU employees together is an exciting opportunity to build connection and create the kind of collective impact we can only have when UM and the Missoula community work as partners.

Please find the application criteria and form on the WLI website. The deadline for applications is May 10, 2019, and we will announce the members of the new WLI cohort at the end of May. The new cohort will convene September 2019 through April 2020. I encourage all eligible and interested UM employees to apply!
