2020 State of the University Address

August 24, 2020

Dear Campus Community,

Each August as UM begins its academic year, faculty and staff traditionally join together with community members, UM alums and other stakeholders at the State of the University address. While the delivery of the 2020 installment will be altered, the focus of this event - to celebrate UM's successes and share the vision and priorities that will shape the coming year and beyond - will remain unchanged.

At 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, we invite you to join virtually to hear from President Bodnar about the current and future state of the University. UM's shared governance leaders (Charity Atteberry, Taylor Gregory and Chris Palmer) also will speak regarding the UM family's efforts to successfully adapt to meet the challenges of COVID-19, and Acting Provost Reed Humphrey will talk about his priorities and goals for UM's academic offerings.

As is tradition, new faculty members will be recognized as they begin their careers at UM, and faculty awarded tenure or promotion in 2020 will be highlighted.

The address will be available on several virtual platforms and links will be available on the President's Office webpage. For more information, please contact the Office of the President at 406-243-2311.
