Dear Campus Community,

To acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of our UM colleagues, especially given the challenges presented by COVID-19, nominations are now being accepted for the 2022 Week of Excellence Employee Awards. Please consider nominating colleagues who are particularly worthy of recognition. The nomination deadline is 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. Awards will be presented during UM's Week of Excellence in early May.

While the final schedule for Week of Excellence events will be forthcoming, the Week of Excellence Employee Celebration Breakfast will take place on Wednesday, May 4, in the University Center Ballroom. The breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the program commencing at 9 a.m. In addition to celebrating the Week of Excellence Employee Award winners, new retirees will be honored and longevity awards will be presented.

We are also excited to announce a new event to congratulate faculty members recommended for tenure and promotion. This family-friendly celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4 from 4-5:30 p.m. in the University Center Ballroom. While UM has traditionally honored these faculty members at the State of the University event in August, we will celebrate these achievements shortly after faculty members learn of the Provost's recommendation, not several months afterward. Family and friends are welcome at this event, as UM recognizes the support they give, and sacrifices they make so our professors can reach these important career milestones.
