Housing Options

University Villages

University Villages are unfurnished apartments ranging in size from studios to four-bedroom apartments. Housing priority is given to students who are married, have dependent children, and students with disabilities. Single graduate and undergraduate students, as well as faculty and staff, may also live in University Villages.

Apartments are offered based on, but not limited to, the following:

  • Priority 1) Students with families
  • Priority 2) Single Students
  • Priority 3) UM Faculty & Staff
  • Priority 4) Current UV Residents requesting transfer of unit.

Applications for University Villages apartments are accepted at any time; however, you must be accepted for admission to the University of Montana or Missoula College before housing can be assigned. The date indicated on the application as the earliest housing date wanted will affect your position on the waiting list.  If a unit becomes available prior to the date you have indicated, you may not be offered that apartment; therefore, you will want to put down the earliest date you are willing to start paying rent on a unit.

Off-Campus Renter Center

The ASUM Renter Center is a student advocacy organization dedicated to enhancing renters’ rights, promoting policy change, and conducting education and neighborhood outreach. We provide personalized counseling and support to student renters as they navigate living off-campus.

Through educational campaigns, one-on-one meetings, and outreach events, the ASUM Renter Center seeks to empower students to assert their rights, encourage neighborhood relations, advocate for student renting rights policy, and assist students with the rental process.
