Matt is an aquatic ecologist and project manager with the Ecological Mapping, Monitoring and Assessment group. He oversees EMMA projects related to the monitoring of streams and rivers with Federal and State partners. Matt has research interests that lie at the interface of aquatic habitat, hydrology, and climate science and recognizes that aquatic ecosystems are linked with the terrestrial landscape and atmospheric processes. My goal at EMMA is to use novel approaches to guide the management of aquatic ecosystems in the face of anthropogenic and natural impacts using monitoring and/or disparate existing data sets with models and statistics. As a part of this work, Matt is committed to providing professional development opportunities for students and early career post-baccalaureate and post-masters professionals.
