Continuing Medical Education (CME)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of Billings Clinic and the Montana Department of Health and Human Services Montana Asthma Control Program.

Billings Clinic is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

The following accept hours approved by the Billings Clinic (an accredited CME provider)

1. Pharmacy

Per the Montana Board of Pharmacy Rule 24.174.2106 (effective 11/20/2021): Continuing education programs sponsored by providers that are approved by the following organizations will automatically qualify for continuing education credit:

• The American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• Programs that have been approved for Continuing Medical Education (CME) by a state Board of Medical Examiners or its equivalent
• Programs that have been approved for CME by an accredited CME provider.

2. AAPA

American Academy of Physician Assistants accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.  The National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) states that the AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ are acceptable for continuing medical education requirements for recertification.  Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

3. AANPCB

Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses for recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education).
Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

4. ANCC

Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses for recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education).
Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

5. Respiratory Care

The Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners accepts hours approved by accrediting organizations that establish standards and criteria for CE programs.  The content must be applicable to an RCP’s profession.  It is up to each licensee to determine if a course meets the board’s rule requirements.
