Hello,

We are fast approaching the start of your time here at UM, and we want to make sure your transition is smooth!

If you have not spoken with your academic advisor or seen your fall semester class schedule yet, that means you likely still have tasks to complete. Check your status here. If you have tasks remaining, you should complete them as soon as possible. The deadline to complete these tasks is Friday, July 30. Once all your tasks are complete, your academic advisor will contact you to arrange an appointment.

Here are some important dates and details about your first week at UM:

  • Residence Hall Arrival: Monday, Aug. 23
    • Students living in the residence halls should select an arrival period via the myHousing Portal.
    • Students in marching band, athletics, the Freshman Wilderness Experience and other programs should follow arrival instructions specific to their group.
  • New Student Orientation: Monday-Friday Aug. 23-27
    • First-year students are expected to attend programming all week. You will be placed into a peer group at check-in and you will remain with that group for the week.
    • Families are encouraged to join their students for orientation events on Monday, Aug. 23, and the morning of Tuesday, Aug. 24.
    • View the New Student Orientation schedule here.
  • Big Sky Experience: Aug. 24-25
    • Coming soon: Keep an eye out for a sneak preview of all available campus and community sites for your special community immersion experience.

Oh, we almost forgot!  There are still spaces available for our brand-new pre-orientation overnight trip to the Flathead Lake Biological Station. Learn more and register here.

See you soon, Griz!
