Announcing the Sprunk and Burnham Dean of the College of Business (9/18/20)

To the campus community:

I am pleased to announce that, as a result of a national search, Dr. Suzanne Tilleman will serve as Sprunk and Burnham Dean of the College of Business (COB) effective October 1, 2020. Dr. Tilleman has served as Interim Dean of COB since May 2019, and prior to that was Chair of the Department of Management and Marketing. She received the inaugural Knick Family Faculty Fellowship in 2017. Dr. Tilleman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an MBA in Management from Tulane University, and a Ph.D. in Strategy and Entrepreneurship from the University of Oregon.

Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Dr. Tilleman spent seven years working in industry and another four years teaching at Montana State University – Northern in her hometown of Havre. Her industry experience includes working for some of the largest players in the natural resources arena: General Electric, Exxon, and Monsanto.

Dr. Tilleman presented a compelling vision for the future of business and entrepreneurship throughout the recruitment process. I am confident her experience in both industry and academia will help her succeed in leading the College of Business into a bright future.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Tilleman on this appointment!
