Kimber McKay at National Science Foundation

Kimber McKay

This week, SPCHS Professor Kimber McKay is in Arlington VA at the National Science Foundation, co-leading a 15-member group of experts from all over the US who will make policy recommendations to the leadership of NSF’s newest Directorate (Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships). The group was charged with helping address the lack of meaningful and impactful collaboration between social and behavioral scientists and economists (SBE Directorate and beyond) together with researchers in the technology and innovation engines, centers, and grants funded by NSF. McKay’s research has focused principally on the pace and cadence of innovation uptake in international development, and she has worked for decades with multidisciplinary/multicultural teams that have come together to solve development challenges in rural and remote communities around the globe.
