Personal Summary

Julie Cahill began her role as the Director of UM Summer in early 2022 after being away from the University of Montana for 5 years. Here directorship marks an exciting new chapter in Julie’s multifaceted relationship with UM, having earned an undergraduate degree, traveled the world as a member of the admissions team, and successfully pursued an M.Ed. degree, all as a ‘Griz’.  And as a high school science teacher in places as diverse as Browning, MT and the Maori majority Okaihau College in New Zealand, she has wide experience in helping students from many backgrounds find strong pathways to learning success.  Her roots in Missoula also extend outside of UM and into the small business community, where she has helped two locally based businesses build their brands nationally and globally. In her off hours she enjoys trail running and backpacking with her husband, Ben, and their dog as well as long days in the garden!
