MONTANA'S BEARTOOTH RANGE

Montana’s Beartooth Range is the only mountain group in Montana to hold peaks rising beyond 12,000 feet (3,657 meters). Depending upon how they are measured, it is accepted that at least 28 summits reach this elevation. Granite Peak, at 12,799 feet (3,901 meters) is the highest pinnacle in the range and in Montana. Approximately 25 alpine glaciers rest in the cirques of this high country.
