Winter Mornings Made Easy: All the Options
Because of the chilly mornings we have been experiencing lately, the UDASH Red Line has had an extreme increase in ridership during the morning rounds. We want to ensure that all of our riders can get to and from their destinations on time, so please consider these alternatives to Red Line during these busy periods.
Blue Line
The UDASH Blue Line route runs every 30 minutes from 7:03 AM to 8:50 AM. This line picks up from Lewis and Clark, continues along South Avenue and Arthur to the Transit Hub, and THEN circles Campus Drive. Red Line and Blue Line ARE THE EXACT SAME from Lewis and Clark to the Transit Hub. So, if you are leaving Lewis and Clark to go to campus during these times, please consider hopping on the Blue Line instead.
Blue Line departs Lewis and Clark at 7:03 AM, 7:33 AM, 8:03 AM, and 8:33 AM.
Mountain Line Route 1
Mountain Line, the city bus, also serves the Lewis and Clark to campus area. All Mountain Line buses are also fare-free. Route 1 runs every 30 minutes from 6:20 AM to 8:05 AM and then every 15 minutes from 8:05 AM to 6:20 PM.
This line does not pick up directly from the Lewis and Clark Transfer Center, but it does pick up at each stop along South Avenue and Arthur, including Dornblaser. Also, this line does not stop at the Transit Hub, so you must get off along Arthur Avenue near Miller Hall, Lommasson, or Gilkey. Route 1 departs South & Lester at 7:29 AM, 7:59 AM, and each :14, :29, :44, and :59 until 5:59 PM.
Mountain Line Route 12
Although Route 1 doesn’t go directly by the Lewis and Clark Transfer Center, Route 12 picks up from Lewis and Clark at the stop on Higgins (not the parking lot, but on the street). Route 12 runs every 30 minutes from 6:12 AM to 9:12 AM and then every 60 minutes until 7:57 PM. This route picks up at stops along South Avenue and Arthur Avenue, as well as Lewis and Clark on Higgins. You must get off at stops along Arthur (Miller Hall, Lommasson, Gilkey) as this route does not service the Transit Hub.
Route 12 departs Lewis and Clark at 6:12 AM, 6:42 AM, and each :12 and :42 until 8:42 AM, then picks up hourly beginning at 9:12 AM.

By choosing an alternative route, you can help reduce crowding on the Red Line and your stress levels as you commute to campus in the mornings.
