Renae Schmitt, PI

Renae is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. She is an instructor in the Environmental Science Program at SBC. She has served as the SBC liaison for an NSF LSAMP program based at SKC (#1102362) She is the current advisor for the SBC AISES chapter, which serves to support Native Americans in STEM fields. She has worked on an NSF TCUP program (#1023340) and was a Co-PI on an NSF TCUP project (NSF# 1560805).

Project role: Ms. Schmitt coordinated the implementation and study of the proposed model at Sitting Bull College (between 2017-2019).
