The University of Montana in partnership with Nelnet Business Solutions allows for the delivery of student refunds. Be prepared to receive your refunds timely and efficiently by selecting your refund option. The selection process is simple and easy.
This solution offers an easy way to get your refund each semester if money is due back to you. The best part? You choose how we send you your money:
- Direct Deposit (3-5 business days)
- Paper Check (7-14 business days)
Refund Schedule: Files are shipped to Nelnet every Tuesday and Friday. Some exceptions may occur during holiday weeks.
When will Spring Semester 2020 refunds be issued?
The first refund file for Spring Semester 2020 will be shipped to Nelnet on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
Bottom line: If you are expecting a refund, be prepared and make your refund choice now! Failure to make a choice will result in serious delays receiving your refund. Checks are automatically mailed if you have not selected an option. Checks are mailed to the mailing address on the system at the time the file is prepared. You should always keep your mailing address up to date via your Cyberbear account.

DEFERRED PAYMENT PLAN
The Deferred Payment Plan (DPP) splits your tuition, mandatory fees, and campus room and board into four payments. The plan is continuous and once you are approved to use DPP, you remain on the plan until Business Services receives a written request from you to be removed.
FEDERAL PERKINS PROMISSORY NOTE
If you have been awarded and have accepted a Federal Perkins Student Loan through the FAFSA application process with the Financial Aid Office, you will need to complete the Entrance Counseling and Promissory Note with Business Services, Student Account Services, located in the Lommasson Building, EL231. The Federal Perkins Student Loan is administered by the University of Montana and is not included with your other loans administered by the U.S. Department of Education through Direct Lending.
